We’ve been using helicopters and drones for video and photography for years. Drones are wonderful but they have airspace and regulatory limitations, especially downtown and near the airport.

We recently developed a custom helium balloon camera platform and we completed our first project with the system last week at a property in the Seaport District. The property is close to the approach path of Logan airport and a highly security conscious area with the cruise terminal next door and the freight terminal across the channel. We were able to complete the aerial photography project with approval from FAA and State Police.

We’ll still be using drones and helicopters on many of our aerial projects but this new platform gives us much more flexibility for locations which had previously been off limits.
